On Wednesday morning, the Israeli occupation forces stormed the basic and secondary schools in the town of Bza, northeast of occupied Jerusalem.
The Palestinian Ministry of Education said – on its Facebook page – that the occupation forces stormed the school and launched the gas bombs intensively inside it, which led to the suffocation of some students.
In a related context, the Israeli occupation forces continue to prevent buses carrying Palestinian students from entering the Shuafat camp towards their schools, forcing them to go down and walk through the military barrier separating the camp from the city of Jerusalem, then subject them to physical inspection and search of their bags.

The suffering of 7 thousand students
Commenting on these arbitrary measures, Al -Maqdisi lawyer Medhat Diba – who lives in Shuafat camp – said that 7 thousand school students receive their education outside the camp, 4 thousand of them receive their education in the “municipal” schools under the umbrella of the Israeli Ministry of Education, and 3 thousand learn in private schools or those affiliated with the Palestinian Authority, and they are forced to pass the military barrier towards their schools, due to the lack of schools The camp- which includes 7,000 others- for all students.
He added, “About a week ago, the parents of the students in Shuafat camp organized a sit -in due to the daily abuse and inspection, and they demanded the suspension of these measures, which escalated after the war on Gaza on October 7, 2023.”
Arbitous measures
“The procedures carried out by the occupation authorities represented in abuse of students, whether they receive their learning at all in schools outside the Shuafat camp, or who were forced to move recently to schools inside the wall after the closure of UNRWA schools, are illegal arbitrary measures and is opposed by international law,” Diba added.
Diba touched that the child has the right to go to his school and return from it without any restrictions, and it is also his right to enjoy his school hours and live his childhood normally, but “all of this is missing him from the Palestinian child because of the immoral Israeli policies.”
According to international law, the occupation state has legal obligations that ensure the enjoyment of the right to education in the lands it occupies, and this right was mentioned in many international advertisements, treaties and covenants that guaranteed it to everyone in society.
