Sources told Al -Jazeera that after midnight, the Israeli occupation army stormed the building in which the located headquarters of the island network is located in the occupied West Bank city.
The occupation forces extended the closure of the office 60 days, and attached at the entrance to the headquarters a military order.
Last September, the occupation army stormed the office of Al -Jazeera channel in Ramallah according to a military order, and the employees of it handed over a decision to close the office, and after that, all devices and documents were issued and the workers were prevented from using their cars.
In response, the Al -Jazeera Network condemned the Israeli occupation forces to storm and close its office and emphasized that these repressive measures aim to prevent the world from seeing the truth of the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories and the war on Gaza, while the reactions condemning this procedure follow.
In a statement, the network described the storming of its office as criminal work, and said that Israel’s continuous suppression of the free press aims to hide its actions in the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank.
The statement indicated the false allegations made by the Israeli occupation authorities to justify this illegal raid, and held the government of Benjamin Netanyahu responsible for the safety of the network journalists, and pledged to take legal steps to protect its rights and the rights of its workers.
Al -Jazeera also pledged to continue coverage and convey the truth professionally and objectively, even in light of these Israeli measures aimed at silencing it.
In May 2024, the Israeli government ratified the proposal of the Prime Minister and the Minister of Communications, Shlomo Karai, to close the offices of Al -Jazeera channel in Israel, to enter into force immediately with the signing of the Minister of Communications, according to what was called.
