Occupied Jerusalem- The Israeli occupation authorities renewed the deportation of elderly marabouts Abu Bakr Shimi and Nafisa Khwais from Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Shimi (66 years old) and Khwais (69 years old) confirmed to Tel Aviv Tribune Net that they had received, yesterday, Sunday, a new decision extending the sentence of their deportation from Al-Aqsa for a week, to be automatically extended for another 6 months.
This came after they were summoned to an investigation session that lasted for hours at the “Al-Qashla” center near the Hebron Gate in the Old City of Jerusalem.
Abu Bakr Shimi told Tel Aviv Tribune Net, commenting on the decision to deport him, “We, as Almoravids, are very tired and persecuted to the point that we cannot approach Al-Aqsa Mosque… There is a dangerous plan, and I believe that they intend to implement what Ben Gvir declared regarding building a synagogue in Al-Aqsa.”
Shimi indicated that he was summoned and handed a ban order from Al-Aqsa for 6 months, despite the fact that the Jewish holiday season is almost over, and therefore he believes that “there is an intention to completely empty the mosque of those who are present in it daily during the coming period.”
As for the elderly station, Nafisa Khwais, she told Tel Aviv Tribune Net that she repeatedly asked the investigator why her deportation was renewed periodically, and he replied that she “poses a danger to them and to society.”
During the session, the investigator stressed that Khwais “is prohibited from entering Al-Aqsa Mosque and from approaching the corridors leading to all of its doors throughout the deportation period.”
As soon as she was handed the deportation order, the investigator said to her mockingly, “Don’t forget to go out now and tell the media about this brutal, unjust occupation,” referring to similar statements she had made previously.
It is noteworthy that the elderly marabouts are constantly kept away from the mosque, in addition to a group of marabouts, most notably Hanadi Al-Halawani, Khadija Khwais, Nizam Abu Ramoz, and Aida Al-Sidawi.
Thousands of settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque on Sunday and Monday, the fourth and fifth days of the Jewish Sukkot Festival, which began last Thursday and continues for a week.
According to the Islamic Endowments Department, 3,244 settlers participated in the raids over two days, while eyewitnesses confirmed that the settlers performed biblical rituals and carried plant offerings inside the mosque.
