The Israeli occupation authorities released dozens of Palestinian prisoners from the Gaza Strip on Tuesday. The occupation army arrested them from the Gaza and northern governorates during its ground operations as part of its ongoing war on the Strip since last October 7.

50 detainees were released from its prisons through the Zikim checkpoint, and they were in a deplorable health condition.

Anatolia Agency reported, citing medical sources, that “33 prisoners arrived at Kamal Adwan Hospital (north) to receive treatment as a result of the difficult health conditions they are suffering from.”

The agency added that a number of prisoners “show signs of torture on their bodies.”

One of those released said that the conditions of prisoners in prisons are beyond description, referring to their cruelty and difficulty, explaining that they did not see sunlight during the entire period of their detention, and were subjected to torture.

He spoke about the martyrdom of a prisoner from Jabalia, north of the Gaza Strip, in his hands, after being subjected to severe torture, adding, “They beat him severely in the head, and before his martyrdom he told me to deliver a message to his family that he was oppressed.”

The occupation forces arrested thousands of civilians from the Gaza Strip during the ongoing ground war there, and the degrading images of detention spread widely around the world, as the detainees were stripped of their clothes except for their underwear, and were taken in public in lines in Gaza neighborhoods.

The occupation imposes severe restrictions on Gaza prisoners and commits the crime of enforced disappearance against them, as their families do not know any information about their relatives, whether those arrested from homes and shelter centers, or those detained at the military checkpoint that separates the Gaza Strip into two parts, and none of the human rights institutions or The International Committee of the Red Cross has no information about them.

According to Palestinian human rights organizations, the occupation recently admitted that it arrested at least 4,000 citizens from Gaza, 1,500 of whom were released, noting that the occupation arrested hundreds of Gaza workers in the West Bank, in addition to citizens from Gaza who were in the West Bank for the purpose of treatment.
