Occupied Jerusalem- The Israeli occupation municipality crews in Jerusalem, under the protection of the occupation forces, demolished a Palestinian home in the Wadi Qaddum neighborhood, in the town of Silwan, south of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The owner of the house, Louay Abu Sobeih, told Tel Aviv Tribune Net that he built his house about a year ago, but the occupation police and its municipality in Jerusalem began pursuing him to force it to be demolished under the pretext of building it without a license.
The area of the dwelling is approximately 68 square metres, and was built on the roof of an existing house and houses 7 individuals.
Abu Sobeih stated that he resorted to lawyers in an attempt to prevent the implementation of the demolition order, but to no avail, as the occupation municipality’s harassment and pressure intensified to force him to implement the demolition order under the pretext that the building was not licensed, at a time when Palestinians in Jerusalem are unable to obtain building permits.
Abu Sobeih demolished two rooms a few days ago, leaving two bedrooms, a kitchen, and a bathroom. Today, municipal crews raided his house and completed the demolition of what was left of it.
According to Tel Aviv Tribune Net monitoring, the occupation forces carried out 29 demolition operations in Jerusalem during last May alone.
