The Israeli escalation continues in the West Bank, as the occupation forces launched a series of incursions and raids in a number of cities and towns, including Jenin and Nablus, and arrested a number of Palestinians.
The Israeli army carried out a series of incursions in the West Bank, concentrated in the city and camp of Jenin (north), Balata camp near Nablus, Aqabat Jabr camp near Jericho (east), and the town of Sa’ir in Hebron Governorate.
In the latest developments, Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent reported that the occupation forces withdrew their vehicles from the city of Jenin and the vicinity of its camp, following an incursion it carried out amid heavy gunfire and clashes between its forces and Palestinian resistance fighters, in which light and medium machine guns were used.
Local Palestinian platforms broadcast scenes of the outbreak of clashes, which were followed by heavy plumes of smoke rising from the site of the raid as a result of the occupation forces launching smoke bombs to cover up their military operation.
Resistance fighters had sounded the sirens twice during the 17th incursion into Jenin since October 7th.
Raids and injuries
This comes while two Palestinians were injured, at dawn on Monday, by Israeli army bullets during raids on cities, camps and towns in the occupied West Bank.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said, in a statement, that its crews dealt with two casualties with live bullets in the city of Tubas (north) and the town of Sa’ir in Hebron Governorate (south).
Eyewitnesses reported to Anadolu Agency that the army bulldozed streets and destroyed Palestinian property in the Jenin and Balata camps, before withdrawing from them.
She explained that a citizen suffered serious injuries, which were treated by Red Crescent crews in Tubas as a result of being shot with live bullets in the chest, while a person wounded by live bullets in the hand and thigh was transported to the town of Sa’ir.
Escalating operations
Since the seventh of last October, Israeli incursions into the West Bank have increased, as the army carries out raids and searches, resulting in confrontations with the Palestinians.
This comes in conjunction with a devastating war waged on Gaza, which left 20,424 martyrs and 54,36 wounded, most of them children and women, according to the latest toll issued by the local authorities on Sunday, in addition to massive destruction of infrastructure and an unprecedented humanitarian disaster.
