Last night and at dawn on Friday, the Israeli occupation forces continued their military campaign in several areas in the West Bank, during which they carried out attacks in Hebron, while settlers burned Palestinian property near Ramallah.

Sources reported to Tel Aviv Tribune that a young man was injured by Israeli occupation army bullets during the storming of the town of Nilin, west of Ramallah, in addition to the occupation army vehicles storming the Jalazoun camp, north of Ramallah, in the central West Bank.

Sources also told Tel Aviv Tribune that the occupation forces stormed the town of Habla, south of Qalqilya, and arrested young men at dawn today during their storming of the northern town of Asira in Nablus, in the northern West Bank.

While local sources said that the occupation forces stormed the town of Deir Istiya in Salfit, in the northern West Bank, and raided citizens’ homes and destroyed their contents, Palestinian platforms documented scenes of settlers setting fire to an estate in the town of Abu Falah, northeast of Ramallah.

Yesterday evening, Thursday, two Palestinians suffered bruises and fractures after Israeli soldiers assaulted them in the Old City of Hebron, in the southern West Bank.

An activist in the non-governmental “Human Rights Defenders” group, Imad Abu Shamsiyya, told Anadolu Agency that the occupation forces severely beat two young men, after arresting them and searching their phones at the gate leading to the Ibrahimi Mosque.

There are several settlement outposts inhabited by about 500 settlers in the heart of Hebron, amid a military deployment of hundreds of Israeli soldiers, while Israeli estimates say that more than 720,000 settlers reside in settlement outposts in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.

Suit against penalties

For his part, The Jewish Insider website said that two Israeli Americans filed a lawsuit against the administration of President Joe Biden, after they faced sanctions related to foreigners who participated in extremism in the West Bank.

The United States has previously announced more than once that it has imposed sanctions on settlers within extremist groups accused of fueling violence against Palestinians in the West Bank.

Washington made clear its opposition to any expansion of settlements in the West Bank, with the support of right-wing representatives in the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The US State Department said in a previous statement, “The violence of extremist settlers in the West Bank causes severe human suffering, harms Israel’s security, and undermines the prospects for peace and stability in the region.”

In parallel with the ongoing Israeli war on the Gaza Strip with American military support since October 7, 2023, the occupation army expanded its operations and settlers escalated their attacks in the West Bank, which resulted in a total of 847 Palestinians being martyred and about 6,700 injured, according to official Palestinian data.
