The Israeli occupation army launched – at dawn on Saturday – a campaign of incursions into various areas of the occupied West Bank, which included clashes and the arrest of at least 15 Palestinians, including a woman and former detainees.
Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent also reported that at least three Palestinians were injured and bruised after settlers attacked them with stones in the town of Silwad, east of the city of Ramallah in the central West Bank.
Raed Hamed, mayor of Silwad, said, “About 30 settlers attacked Palestinians in the western area of the town of Silwad, and attacked them with stones, resulting in 3 of them being injured and bruised.”
Hamed stated that the settlers came from the Ofra settlement, which was established on the lands of Silwad and neighboring towns, and among them were armed men, and they suddenly attacked the Palestinians.
310 assaults
According to the Palestinian Wall and Settlement Affairs Authority, settlers carried out 310 attacks against Palestinians and their property in the West Bank during last November alone.
Earlier today, the Palestinian security services announced the killing of one of its members in the ongoing operation in the Jenin camp in the northern West Bank, at a time when the occupation forces stormed the cities of Tulkarm, Ramallah, Hebron, Al-Bireh, and Nablus, and arrested Palestinians.
The spokesman for the Palestinian security services confirmed the killing of one of its members during the “Protect the Homeland” operation, which has been ongoing since December 14 in the Jenin camp, in what she said was a campaign aimed at “restoring security and stability and saving the lives of citizens from the increasing security chaos.”
Thus, the death toll of the Palestinian security operation in the Jenin camp rose to 9, including 4 members of the security services, and Yazeed Al-Maqtalid, from the occupation and a leader in the Jenin Brigade of the Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement.
Popular congestion
This comes amid increasing Palestinian popular tension inside the camp as a result of the operation, which exacerbated human suffering, in light of the interruption of electricity and water and the prevention of waste removal.
The occupation forces earlier stormed the city of Tulkarm in the northern West Bank and arrested two Palestinians.
Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent said that resistance fighters confronted the occupation forces near Tulkarm camp with bullets and homemade bombs.
Sources also told Tel Aviv Tribune that the occupation forces stormed the village of Al-Mazraa Al-Sharqiya in Ramallah and the town of Beit Ummar, north of Hebron in the West Bank.
The occupation forces stormed the city of Al-Bireh in the central West Bank, and arrested two Palestinians from the town of Al-Mazraa Al-Sharqiya, east of Ramallah, in addition to storming the village of Barqa, northwest of Nablus.
In parallel with the genocidal war on Gaza, the Israeli army expanded its operations and settlers escalated their attacks in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, resulting in 835 martyrs and about 6,500 injured.
