Sources told Tel Aviv Tribune that the Israeli occupation army completely withdrew from all parts of the city of Jenin and its camp in the northern West Bank, after a military operation that lasted about two days and left 8 Palestinian martyrs, 19 wounded, dozens of detainees, and major destruction of homes and infrastructure.
Over the course of two days, violent confrontations broke out between the Palestinian resistance and the occupation forces in several areas, most notably the eastern neighborhood of the city, the outskirts of the camp, and the village of Kafr Dan.
The official Palestinian news agency Wafa quoted the governor of Jenin, Kamal Abu Al-Rub, as confirming that two young men were killed in the town of Kafr Dan, west of Jenin, and that the occupation army detained their bodies.
According to the agency, this brings the number of martyrs in the town to 3, and in the governorate to 8 martyrs, in addition to 19 injured, during the aggression that continued on the city of Jenin, its camp, and several towns in the governorate for 48 hours.
In turn, the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), said: “With the highest signs of pride and confidence in God’s near victory, the Martyr Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades celebrates one of its distinguished knights, the Qassam martyr, the Mujahid Qusay Muhammad Yasser Farhat.”
It confirmed that the martyr Farhat rose to exaltation on Wednesday afternoon during his clash with the Zionist enemy forces in the village of Kafardan in Jenin, north of the occupied West Bank.
Arrest and destroy
Before their withdrawal, the occupation forces launched a campaign of arrests among Palestinians in the city and Jenin camp during raids on their homes, and in parallel with this, operations of destruction and sabotage of infrastructure continued for the second day in a row.
The occupation forces arrested 15 Palestinians, including women, children and former prisoners, during their raids on various areas in the West Bank, and the number of detainees rose to more than 11,700 since October 2023, as part of a systematic and escalating campaign of arrests, according to the Commission for Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners’ Affairs.
The number of Palestinian martyrs as a result of Israeli attacks in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem reached 790 people, while the number of wounded reached about 6,450, according to official data.
Bashir Mutahen, Director of Public Relations in the Jenin Municipality, said that the occupation army withdrew from the entire city of Jenin and its camp.
Confirming that dozens of homes were burned or destroyed, he explained that the bulldozing and destruction operations targeted infrastructure, including street, water, and sewage networks, 4 kilometers long.
He stated that the army worked to completely destroy Jenin camp’s networks of electricity, water, sewage, and streets, and the camp is still without electricity since the beginning of the incursion.
In conjunction with the escalation in the West Bank, Israel has continued to wage war on Gaza since October 7, 2023, resulting in the death of about 148,000 martyrs and wounded, most of them children and women, in addition to widespread destruction and famine that claimed the lives of dozens.
