The Israeli occupation army announced the discovery of a number of bodies in the Gaza Strip, without clarifying their identities, calling on Israelis to “refrain from spreading rumors.”
“The forces found several bodies during the fighting in Gaza,” the army said in a statement released late Saturday.
He added: “At this stage, the forces are still active in the area and are carrying out the process of retrieving these bodies and examining their identities,” noting that these procedures are expected to take several hours.
The Israeli army did not clarify where these bodies were found inside Gaza or their number.
However, Channel 12 Israel reported that the army may have found the bodies of 6 Israeli prisoners in the Strip.
On the other hand, the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) published a message on the Telegram platform on Saturday night titled “The Price is One,” in which it recalled previous statements by the spokesman for the Qassam Brigades, the movement’s military wing, Abu Obeida, in which he said that “the price that the resistance will take for 5 prisoners is the same price for all prisoners.”
Israel says there are still 107 prisoners in Gaza, including a number of dead.
But Hamas said in previous statements that dozens of these prisoners were killed as a result of Israeli shelling across the Strip during the war that has been going on for about 11 months.
With every announcement that the Israeli army has recovered the bodies of prisoners from Gaza, protests in Israel and accusations against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of obstructing prisoner exchange and ceasefire negotiations escalate.
