The Israeli occupation army acknowledged on Monday that 4 of its soldiers were killed last night in battles in the southern Gaza Strip, bringing the number of its deaths since the start of the ground operation in Gaza to 132.
The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation quoted an army spokesman as announcing that 4 additional soldiers were killed during battles in the southern Gaza Strip, and indicated that a fifth soldier was wounded in those battles, without further details.
The Israeli army’s losses have increased over the past few days with the intensification of battles with the Palestinian resistance in the southern Gaza Strip, especially in Khan Yunis.
The resistance announced a series of operations and attacks that targeted occupation tanks, vehicles, and gatherings of its soldiers, resulting in a large number of deaths and injuries among its ranks.
Yesterday, Sunday, the occupation army acknowledged the killing of an officer and two soldiers and the wounding of 9 – including two officers and three soldiers – in battles in the southern Gaza Strip.
On the other hand, Abu Ubaida, spokesman for the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military arm of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), confirmed in a number of his periodic statements that the numbers of deaths and injuries officially announced by the occupation army are “unreal” and that the numbers are much higher.
This comes as the Israeli aggression against Gaza continues for the 73rd day, leaving nearly 19,000 martyrs and more than 51,000 wounded, most of them women and children, in addition to massive destruction of residential buildings, vital facilities, and hospitals.
