The Israeli occupation army acknowledged that 10 soldiers were killed and 7 others were injured last night in the battles taking place in the northern Gaza Strip, and said that most of them were officers, including a division commander in the Golani Brigade.
The army first explained the killing of 8, including the commander of the 13th Battalion in the Golani Brigade, Tomer Greenberg, in addition to a platoon leader in the 13th Battalion, named Roi Maldasi, according to what Palestinian websites reported from the occupation army spokesman.
He said in a statement that the eight soldiers were killed in a clash and an ambush set up by the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, in the Shujaiya neighborhood in Gaza City, north of the Strip.
The Israeli army announced the killing of two additional soldiers, one of whom was a commander in the Yiftah Brigade with the rank of colonel, in the battles of Shujaiya in the Gaza Strip.
friendly fire
Israeli medical facilities also announced that 30 injured Israeli soldiers in Gaza were transferred yesterday for treatment in Israeli hospitals.
Thus, the number of Israeli soldiers killed since the start of the ground operation on October 26 has risen to 119, according to data from the occupation army.
The total number of military deaths among the occupation army since Operation Al-Aqsa Flood and the war on Gaza reached 434.
Earlier, the Israeli occupation army announced the killing of 20 of its soldiers due to what it called friendly fire and military accidents during the ongoing ground operations in the Gaza Strip.
This number represents about a fifth of the total military deaths announced so far, and the occupation army said that 13 soldiers were killed after their colleagues misidentified them, while others were killed either as a result of air strikes, tank artillery shelling, or machine gun fire and shrapnel resulting from the explosion of Israeli ammunition. Al-Qassam Brigades
On the other hand, the Al-Qassam Brigades confirmed that its resistance fighters were able to kill more than 15 Israeli soldiers, including a sniper, in the Shujaiya neighborhood.
Al-Qassam targeted an Israeli foot force of 20 soldiers barricaded inside a building with anti-fortified and anti-individual shells, killing and wounding them in the Sheikh Radwan area of Gaza City.
The Al-Qassam Brigades also announced the targeting of the enemy’s field command headquarters in the southern axis of Gaza City with the 114 mm short-range “Rajum” missile system.
Yesterday, Al-Qassam said that its resistance fighters also targeted 11 vehicles and troop carriers in the Sheikh Radwan, Al-Tawam and Shuja’iya neighborhoods with various shells, and in the east of Khan Yunis they detonated two explosive devices in an Israeli dismounted force of 10 soldiers, leaving them dead and wounded.
They also targeted enemy concentrations penetrating the eastern and northern axes of Khan Yunis with heavy-caliber mortar shells.
Ambush details
Al-Qassam revealed details of an ambush by the occupation forces last Tuesday, saying that it was able to target an Israeli infantry faction with two anti-personnel devices in an ambush west of Jabalia.
It confirmed that its fighters “were informed to carry out the ambush and finish off the faction from point zero, leaving dozens of soldiers dead and wounded,” and that an Israeli foot force advanced two days after the ambush towards a building, to be targeted and 15 of its soldiers killed, according to Al-Qassam.
The Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip continues for the 68th day, leaving so far more than 18,000 martyrs and more than 50,000 wounded, according to the Ministry of Health in Gaza.
