The most prominent developments on the 65th day of the Israeli war on Gaza News

On the 65th day of the devastating Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, corresponding to December 10, 2023, the Palestinian resistance launched painful strikes on the occupation forces in Khan Yunis, Jabalia, and Gaza City, and the Al-Qassam Brigades announced that they had killed 40 Israeli soldiers and destroyed 44 vehicles during the last 48 hours.

This comes as Abu Ubaida, Al-Qassam spokesman, appeared in an audio recording for the first time in two weeks, threatening Israel with more strikes, stressing that it would not be able to recover its prisoners alive without an exchange and abiding by the conditions of resistance. Meanwhile, the occupation army published new figures for its heavy losses in Gaza.

Meanwhile, the occupation continued to commit massacres against civilians, and the Ministry of Health confirmed the arrival of about 300 martyrs to the Gaza Strip’s hospitals in the past hours, and the total number of martyrs rose to about 18,000, and the injured to 49,000.

The Martyr Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades – the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) – announced that its fighters had targeted 14 Israeli tanks on the fighting fronts in the Gaza Strip. It also destroyed gatherings of occupation forces, and announced the killing of at least 40 Israeli soldiers.

The Al-Qassam Brigades indicated that its fighters targeted 5 Merkava tanks and 3 military bulldozers with Al-Yassin 105 shells in the Shuja’iya neighborhood in Gaza. The fighters also targeted 4 other Merkava tanks and a military bulldozer on Al-Jalaa Street in Gaza City with anti-armor shells.

The Al-Qassam Brigades broadcast scenes of it targeting an Israeli Merkava tank in the Tal al-Zaatar area in the northern Gaza Strip. It also announced that its fighters had targeted with Al-Yassin shells 105 two occupation tanks in the Mahatta area in Khan Yunis, and another east of the city of Khan Yunis and Rabaa north of Khan Yunis.

Abu Ubaida, spokesman for the Al-Qassam Brigades, announced in a new recorded audio speech that none of the Israeli prisoners or detainees in the Gaza Strip will be released except through the conditional exchange announced by the Palestinian resistance since the beginning of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” battle.

Abu Ubaida confirmed – in a recorded speech obtained by Tel Aviv Tribune – that the Al-Qassam Brigades had completely or partially destroyed 180 Israeli military vehicles within 10 days, that is, since the end of the temporary humanitarian truce at the beginning of this December.

He pointed out that the Al-Qassam Brigades carried out a large number of specific operations, including attacking foot forces, sniping, and detonating mines. He stressed that “the enemy is still receiving blows, and what is coming is greater.”

On the other hand, Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent in the Gaza Strip monitored the transport by Israeli military helicopters of a number of injured Israeli soldiers as a result of the battles taking place in the Shuja’iya and Jabalia neighborhoods, east and north of Gaza City. The Tel Aviv Tribune correspondent also indicated that Israeli military rescue helicopters are transporting injured soldiers to Tel Aviv hospitals on an ongoing basis.

For its part, the Israeli occupation army announced that about 1,600 soldiers had been injured since the beginning of the war, the condition of 255 of them critical, and about 670 wounded soldiers were transferred in the battles of Shujaiya and Jabalia.

The toll of new losses for the occupation army during the battles in Gaza more than two months ago included the killing of 426 soldiers and officers, including 102 soldiers who fell since the start of the ground war on October 26 last year. While at least 29 soldiers have been killed since the end of the temporary humanitarian truce at the beginning of this December.

As for the total number of wounded among the ranks of the occupation army, it reached 1,593, including 559 since the start of the ground operation in Gaza, with 127 of them seriously injured. The occupation army confirmed that 416 soldiers are undergoing treatment in hospitals, 40 of whom are in critical condition, and 211 are in moderate condition.

The Israeli newspaper Haaretz revealed that there is a large gap between the number of wounded soldiers announced by the Israeli occupation army and what hospital records show.

The newspaper pointed out that the number announced by the army today is 1,600 wounded since the start of the military operations of the occupation in the Gaza Strip, while the partial lists announced by hospitals show that they received 4,591 wounded during the same period.

For its part, the Israeli Ministry of Health announced that since the beginning of the war on October 7, hospitals have treated 10,548 soldiers and civilians, of whom 131 died.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the Israeli occupation committed 21 massacres during the past hours and bombed Kamal Adwan Hospital, which led to the death of two patients.

The Ministry stated that the bodies of 297 martyrs arrived at Gaza Strip hospitals during the past hours, and a large number of victims are still under the rubble.

In a related context, Ashraf Al-Qudra, spokesman for the ministry in Gaza, said that about 18,000 Palestinians were martyred and 49,500 citizens were injured as a result of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip since the seventh of last October.

The spokesman also stated – in an interview with Tel Aviv Tribune – that the toll includes 297 martyrs and more than 550 wounded during the past 24 hours.

The government media office in Gaza revealed that the occupation arrested dozens of people in Beit Lahia, most of them doctors, engineers, and journalists.

The office warned international organizations of the spread of famine in the Gaza Strip, holding international organizations and the occupation responsible for the loss of food and water security in the Strip.

In the West Bank, on Sunday, Israeli occupation forces wounded at least 5 Palestinians with bullets, arrested others, and bombed two homes with missiles during new incursions, which included several areas.

The Israeli incursions included the areas of Tubas, Nablus, Jenin, Qalqilya, Hebron, Ramallah, and occupied Jerusalem.

The Palestinian Prisoners’ Club said that the occupation arrested 30 Palestinians, including a girl and former prisoners.

On the northern front, the United Nations Interim Forces in Lebanon (UNIFIL) warned of the increasing possibility of a broader confrontation, after more than two months of mutual bombardment between Hezbollah and the Israeli army along the border between Lebanon and Israel.

Hezbollah announced that it had attacked, with drones, an Israeli army headquarters south of the Yara barracks, off the western sector of southern Lebanon. The party also announced that its fighters bombed the sites of Birkat Risha, Zibdin, and Ruwaisat al-Alam with Burkan missiles. The party’s fighters attacked gatherings of Israeli soldiers between the Ramtha and Zabdin sites and at the sites of Al-Abad, Hunin Castle, and Jal Al-Alam.

Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent reported that more than 15 missiles were fired from southern Lebanon towards the Upper and Western Galilees. The correspondent also reported that Israeli warplanes and attack drones launched raids on the towns of Aitaroun, Khiam, and Marwahin, and on the vicinity of the towns of Yaroun and Rmish. The surroundings of 10 border towns in southern Lebanon were also subjected to Israeli artillery shelling.

On the political side, Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani said that the Gaza crisis demonstrated double standards in the international community.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani added, in his speech during the Doha Forum, which began today, Sunday, that the detainees were released from Gaza as a result of negotiations and not because of Israeli military operations. He stressed his country’s commitment to work for the release of detainees.

The Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister added that it is unfortunate that the pretexts given for targeting civilians in the Gaza Strip are acceptable to some, indicating that a review of the international and humanitarian system must begin, as force and discrimination have no privileges, as he put it.

For his part, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said that there is no effective protection for civilians in the Gaza Strip and that the number of casualties in the Strip is unprecedented. He added in his speech before the Doha Forum that the authority and credibility of the Security Council were undermined by its inability to implement the ceasefire resolution in Gaza. In his speech, Guterres pledged not to abandon his call for a humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza.

As for Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Al-Safadi, he said that what Israel is doing in Gaza is a systematic effort to empty the Strip of its population. He added, during his participation in the Doha Forum, that Israel is trying to create a new fait accompli in the Gaza Strip that goes beyond its declared goals. Stressing that this danger threatens the entire region at a time when Israel challenges the entire world.

For his part, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that the threat to Hamas must be permanently ended before a permanent ceasefire is reached, and he added in an interview with CNN that Israel will not enjoy security until the military operation is followed by the achievement of a sustainable peace leading to the establishment of a Palestinian state. .
