The most prominent developments on the 219th day of the Israeli war on Gaza News

On the 219th day of the Israeli aggression on Gaza, the Israeli occupation army suffered its largest daily losses since the start of its war on the Gaza Strip, while the resistance broadcast a video recording of the targeting of a tank and published scenes of several operations.

The occupation admitted the largest daily toll of casualties since the start of the war, as the Palestinian resistance confronts its forces on 3 fronts, announcing the implementation of a series of operations and ambushes and targeting about 8 tanks, in addition to launching missiles at the major cities surrounding the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli army said that 50 of its officers and soldiers were injured during the battles in one day, bringing the announced number of its wounded since the beginning of the war to 3,415, including 526 who were seriously injured.

The occupation army is currently carrying out operations in Jabalia in the northern Gaza Strip, in the Zaytoun neighborhood in Gaza City, and in the eastern neighborhoods of the city of Rafah in the south, under cover of intense bombardment, which resulted in the death and injury of dozens of Palestinians and the displacement of many families.

Quality operations

For its part, the Al-Qassam Brigades – the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) – announced the implementation of a series of operations and ambushes against the occupation forces since this morning, and also bombed Ashkelon and Sderot with batches of missiles.

Al-Qassam targeted at least 8 Israeli tanks, causing some of them to catch fire and killing the soldiers in them, according to what it announced via Telegram.

Al-Qassam broadcast a video recording of the targeting of a Merkava tank, where an anti-armor shell was dropped by a drone on the tank east of Jabalia camp. It also published scenes of several operations, including mortar shelling and targeting of tanks.

Rafah battles

In the south of the Gaza Strip, the Al-Qassam Brigades said that they targeted occupation soldiers and vehicles penetrating into the Rafah land crossing with mortar shells in two separate batches.

The Al-Quds Brigades also announced that they bombed the occupation soldiers and vehicles in the Al-Shoka neighborhood, east of Rafah, with a barrage of heavy-caliber mortar shells.

About a week ago, the occupation army began the attack on the eastern neighborhoods of the city of Rafah, a few hours after the Hamas movement announced its approval of the mediators’ proposal for a ceasefire and prisoner exchange.

Hamas frowns

On the political level, the Hamas movement denounced the statements of US President Joe Biden, in which he said that the ceasefire was contingent on the movement releasing detainees in the Gaza Strip.

Hamas considered Biden’s statements a retreat from the results of the last round of negotiations in Cairo, which led to the movement’s approval of the proposal of the Egyptian and Qatari mediators, with the knowledge and information of the American mediator.

In this context, Israeli media reports said that leaders in the army and security services increased their criticism and pressure on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, amid fears of “eroding military achievements” due to the delay in political decisions on several issues.

The Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported that the military security establishment is calling on Netanyahu to resolve the situation quickly and make a decision on two important issues, as it described it: “Who will rule Gaza after Hamas, and approving the purchase of two squadrons of modern warplanes from the United States.”

Egypt intends to intervene

On the other hand, Egypt announced its intention to formally intervene to support South Africa’s lawsuit in the genocide case filed against Israel in the International Court of Justice due to its ongoing war on Gaza, while Hamas appreciated Cairo’s position.

In a statement issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs published on its Facebook page, Cairo announced official intervention to support the South African lawsuit to look into Israel’s violations of its obligations to the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide in the Gaza Strip.

Northern front

On the Lebanese border in the north, Hezbollah announced that it attacked two Israeli targets off the southern border of Lebanon and in the occupied Shebaa Farms, and Israeli fighters also launched a series of raids in the southern regions of Lebanon.

The party said that it bombed with guided missiles an Israeli vehicle carrying spy equipment and targeted other technical equipment in the Ramim barracks, confirming their destruction. The party also targeted with heavy missiles a deployment of Israeli soldiers in the vicinity of the Zabdin site, confirming a direct hit.
