A report broadcast by Al -Jazeera on the file of the missing people in Gaza indicates that cases of loss vary between those who were buried under the rubble of their homes, and those who were displaced or used human shields, or were forcibly taken to arrest without any information about their fate, to live their families torn between hope and despair.
Thousands of Palestinian families have lived since the start of the Israeli war on Gaza between anxiety and despair in search of their missing loved ones, who are numbers and statistics about them, but the truth appears greater than what is announced.
Multiple international and local reports say that thousands of bodies are still under the rubble due to Israeli raids and bombing.
Anonymous fate
Recent estimates of the United Nations indicate that the number of missing persons in Gaza ranges between 8 thousand and 11 thousand cases, the majority of them women and children, and the nature of their fate is still unknown, and the same number referred to by the government media office in Gaza to the island, with the Palestinian statistics centers considering between 6 thousand and 8 thousand missing under the rubble outside the classification.
The European Observatory for Human Rights report talks about the presence of more than 13,000 people under the rubble of homes or in mass graves. While the “Save Children” organization confirmed in a report that between 17 thousand and 21 thousand children are missing.
With the difficulty of getting to know the bodies or documenting deaths with almost the lack of possibilities for research and recovery, efforts to determine the fate of thousands of missing persons, but more than that there are those who were martyred while returning to a devastating house trying to retrieve members of his family.
Other reports confirm that numbers of missing persons are subjected to enforced disappearance without providing any information about their whereabouts. While local human rights organizations stated that one of the missing persons is likely to be inside Israeli prisons.
According to Abdel -Qader Aradah’s report, some of those who lost the occupation army may have been widely used as human shields, and international organizations have documented, and reports also indicate the discovery of mass graves that reflect killings and liquidation of many missing persons in the hope of hiding the crime and its effects, a scenario repeated along the war.
After the withdrawal of the occupation forces from Nasser Bakhan Yunus Hospital in the southern Gaza Strip, mass graves were discovered that included hundreds of bodies, some of which are attached to the hands. Also during the siege of Al -Shifa Hospital, the Israeli forces forced the patients, the wounded and the crew to evacuate it under threats in forced circumstances and walk long distances without providing safe corridors, and did not guarantee their arrival at their destination, which made many missing people without knowing their fate.
Human shields
The Al -Jazeera report says that Israel issues new evacuation orders to places that are safe to bomb and strengthen the missing numbers, as well as the crimes of enforced disappearance par excellence, which is what international organizations spoke about.
Israel has used two Palestinian shields on a large scale and documented and revealed international media, including Al -Jazeera and the Associated Press, and described by the Israeli “silence” organization as the ethical collapse and the rampant tactic of the Israeli occupation army.
