The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced the death of another child in the Strip due to famine and the repercussions of the siege, while the World Food Program confirmed that tens of thousands of children are facing a sharp level of malnutrition.

The ministry said that the child Mustafa Yassin was killed due to malnutrition and drought in Gaza City.

Two days ago, Palestinian Minister of Health Majid Abu Ramadan said that 29 children and us have been martyred for hunger -related reasons in Gaza during the past two days, and that thousands of others are at risk of death for the same reasons.

A terrifying number

In response to a question about previous press statements made by an official at the United Nations about the possibility of 14,000 infants if there is no assistance, the minister said that “No. 14 thousand are very realistic, and it may be less than reality.”

Abu Ramadan said that only 7 or 8 out of 36 hospitals in Gaza are partially operating and that more than 90% of medical stocks were run out due to the siege.

He added that the information available to him indicates that between 90 and 100 trucks loaded with aid to the south and central Gaza. When asked if there was any medical supplies between them, he said that the information he had indicated that only a flour has reached bakeries.

These tragic incidents come to confirm the exacerbation of the humanitarian catastrophe that threatens the lives of thousands of children and the elderly, amid repeated warnings from international organizations that starvation is used as a weapon against civilians in the Gaza Strip, in light of the continued siege and the collapse of the diet and health in the sector.

Global food warns

For his part, the World Food Program said that more than 70,000 children in Gaza are facing sharp levels of malnutrition. The United Nations program added that it is taking advantage of every opportunity to provide food aid, but what is presented is not enough.

He explained that he needs immediate, safe and without restrictions, to provide aid in order to prevent famine and save lives.

On Thursday, the World Food Program warned that it was a race against time to stop a comprehensive famine in Gaza.

The World Food Program said in a statement that the humanitarian aid that arrived in Gaza is only a drop in a sea.

The director of the program in the Palestinian territories said in a statement to reporters that a few bakeries in the south and central Gaza supported by the program resumed the production of bread after the trucks finally managed to bring supplies from the Karam Abu Salem crossing.

For his part, the UN Rapporteur of Food The Food said that Israel uses hunger as a weapon against civilians, and called on the United Nations General Assembly to break the siege and stop starvating 2.3 million Palestinians.

The Gaza Strip requires daily 500 trucks, urgent relief, medical and food aid and 50 fuel trucks as a minimum savior for life, according to the government media office in a statement last Monday.

With an American support, Israel has committed since October 7, 2023 genocide crimes in Gaza, which left more than 175,000 Palestinians between a martyr and a wounded – most of them children and women – and more than 11 thousand missing, along with hundreds of thousands of displaced people.
