Al-Quds Al-Youm channel announced that five of its journalists were martyred, Thursday morning, in an Israeli air strike that targeted the channel’s external broadcast vehicle in the Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip, in conjunction with air strikes in various areas of the Strip.

In a statement, the channel mourned the five journalists: Faisal Abu Al-Qumsan, Ayman Al-Jadi, Ibrahim Al-Sheikh Khalil, Fadi Hassouna, and Muhammad Al-Laddah.

The channel said that the five were killed “while performing their journalistic and humanitarian duty,” describing the incident as “a crime added to the series of crimes of the occupation against Palestinian journalists.”

The channel broadcast a video clip showing the channel’s cameraman in the center of the Strip, Ayman Al-Jadi, celebrating his first child, hours before his death.

Eyewitnesses said that a missile fired by an Israeli plane directly hit the external broadcast vehicle that was parked in front of Al Awda Hospital in the Nuseirat camp, resulting in the death of the five workers and the complete burning of the vehicle.

Last week, the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate announced in a statement that more than 190 journalists had been killed and more than 400 injured since the start of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023.

Sporadic raids

In the same context, 5 people were martyred and 20 injured in an Israeli bombing of a house in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood in Gaza City. Paramedics warned that the number of martyrs was likely to rise, given that there were many individuals trapped under the rubble.

Local media reported that the occupation forces fired continuously from vehicles and drones towards the southeastern areas of the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City, coinciding with the sound of an explosion being heard in the city.

Local sources also said that an explosion occurred as a result of a bombing of residential buildings in the city of Beit Lahia, north of Gaza.

Israeli aircraft also launched an air strike targeting Jabalia al-Balad, north of the Gaza Strip.

Local sources said that martyrs and wounded were killed as a result of the occupation bombing of a house on Old Gaza Street in Jabalia al-Balad.

Al-Awda Hospital said that the occupation forces detonated an explosive robot next to the hospital in Tal al-Zaatar, in the northern Gaza Strip.

In the south, an Israeli helicopter fired at the city of Rafah.
