Two weeks ago, the activities of the annual conference of the Arabic Language Complex in Cairo began in its 91st session, entitled: “Enriching the Arabic Language: Means and Means”, and artificial intelligence had a strong and clear existence in the conference sessions, as this was evident on the conference map in the 30th complex committees.

This great interest from officials in the complex appeared in the issues of artificial intelligence applications, and a special committee entitled “The Arabic Language and Artificial Intelligence” was established, on top of which is the great computer scientist Dr. Mohamed Fahmy Tolba, Dean of the Faculty of Computing and former Vice President of Ain Shams University, and a member of the Language Complex in Cairo, who chose for this committee a selected elite of language and computing scholars from university professors.

As for the adaptation of artificial intelligence to serve the Arabic language, the doctor stresses that this matter is not easy, as the situation requires the concerted Arab sovereign authorities to enter the era of artificial intelligence, as some describe it. The matter is more difficult for the Arabic language. The Arabic language contains 12 million words, followed by the English language at a rate of 600 thousand words, meaning that the total words of the Arabic language are equivalent to 20 times the words of the English language, and for this the application of artificial intelligence with the Arabic language becomes more difficult than any other language in the world.

He added that besides these challenges, the application of artificial intelligence in the Arabic language began late for many languages ​​in the world, and therefore there is a real challenge in front of the Arabic language complex to treat these points from the perspectives of research trends and applied trends; If the research outputs are applicable, it will clearly support the Arabic language.

Students emphasized that they have made strenuous attempts to the uses of artificial intelligence in the Arabic language, and he says, “The Arabic Language Academy in Cairo has begun to digitize the documents and references that have gone through tens of years and convert them for rapid use of global search engines.
