The Jenin Brigade accuses the Authority’s security services of killing a Palestinian resistance fighter News

The Jenin Brigade, affiliated with the Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement, accused the security services of the Palestinian National Authority of assassinating a Palestinian resistance figure yesterday evening, Sunday.

The battalion said in a statement today, Monday, “Since the Battle of Bas Jenin, the security services have been pursuing the resistance fighters in Jenin, confiscating their weapons, and even firing directly at them. Yesterday, we were surprised by the security services’ killing of the young Mujahid, son of the Burqin Battalion, Ahmed Hashim Obaidi, just as they killed, in cold blood, the young man Bahaa Al-Kaqban and the little girl, Sadeel. Turkmen, and presented weak arguments that have no connection to reality.”

She added that the resistance factions in Jenin were avoiding clashes with members of the Palestinian Authority, but they did not stop pursuing the resistance members and shooting at them.

The battalion called on the people of the city and Jenin camp to participate in a massive march tonight in the city of Jenin in honor of the blood of the martyred leaders and in support of the resistance and the Gaza Strip.

On Monday afternoon, the people of Burqin mourned the body of the young man, Ahmed Obaidi, a member of the Burqin Battalion affiliated with the Al-Quds Brigades and one of the wanted persons of the occupation forces, who was killed by bullets from the Authority’s security services.

Eyewitnesses said that members of the security services ambushed a car carrying four resistance fighters on the bypass street northeast of Jenin and opened fire on them, killing Obaidi and wounding his three colleagues.

The name “Jenin Brigade” appeared for the first time in September 2021, in the Jenin camp in the north of the occupied West Bank, to defend the six prisoners who were able to extract their freedom from the Israeli Gilboa prison, and after that it was active in defending the city of Jenin against any intrusion by the occupation forces. Then its activities spread to other cities.

Since the beginning of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” battle on October 7, Jenin camp has witnessed an increase in incursions by the occupation forces, in addition to Israel’s use of unusual methods to target fighters.

The repeated, almost daily incursions into the camp – the most recent of which occurred yesterday, Sunday – have restricted the resistance movement inside it, which is represented by the “Jenin Brigade” and other military wings of the political parties active inside the camp, such as the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades and the Martyr Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades.
