Thousands of Israelis demonstrated in the city of Tel Aviv to pressure the government, to complete an exchange deal in response to invitations from the Israeli prisoners’ families detained in the Gaza Strip.
The families of the Israeli prisoners detained in Gaza have asked the Benjamin Netanyahu government required for the International Criminal Court for war crimes to retract the expansion of their military operation, warning that the current escalation “rules the prisoners of death.”
This came during a press conference held by a group of prisoners’ families in Tel Aviv, in which she expressed her anger at the policies of the Israeli government and its failure to secure the release of its relatives.
“Only the bones of our children are left, Mattan is going through a Holocaust -like ordeal thanks to the Israeli ministers,” said Enaf Zangawker, the mother of a prisoner.
Zanguker accused the government of changing the goals of the war from saving the prisoners to the invasion of the Gaza Strip, considering that “the expansion of military operations in Gaza instead of reaching a comprehensive agreement is a ruling on death on those who remained from the prisoners.”
“This is an illegal work, if the government continues in this path, it erases the memory of those who fell, and we are away from any possible solution for an unlimited period.”
Leave them to families
For his part, Etzik Horn (the father of another prisoner) warned that “Israel stands in front of the destruction of the third temple,” and said, “Israel cannot be a homeland for the Jews as it abandons the Jews and leaves them to torture in captivity.”
The group stressed that the conditions set by the Israeli government to reach an “unrealistic” exchange agreement, and that “the return of all prisoners can only be achieved by ending the war and reaching a comprehensive agreement.”
The families concluded with the invitation of the Israelis to go to the street and the real pressure on the government, stressing that “there is no hope that our children will return without a wide popular move.”
Meet Witakouf
The families of the prisoners had announced earlier today that they ended a 3 -hour meeting with the American envoy Steve Witkeov.
She stated in a statement that Witkeov confirmed his country’s commitment to restore all detainees, considering that this is a top priority.
The families of the prisoners explained that Wittouf informed her that Washington has a plan to end the war on Gaza that includes the return of all Israeli prisoners, but he did not provide its details.
She pointed out that Wittouf adopts Netanyahu’s approach and gives him support for his policies.
