The Israeli occupation authorities decided to release prisoner Wafaa Jarrar, the wife of a leader in the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), after having her feet amputated.

The occupation decided to hand over the 49-year-old prisoner to the “Palestinian Liaison” despite her critical health condition, according to her family, who revealed this in a phone call with Tel Aviv Tribune.

Her son, Hudhayfah, confirmed that the occupation authorities decided to assassinate his mother in this way, pointing out that the family refused to receive her until she was treated, but the occupation is trying to evade its responsibilities, forgetting that it is the reason for what happened to her after her arrest.

Anatolia Agency also reported that the prisoner, Wafa, was transferred to Ibn Sina Hospital for further treatment.

The Prisoners’ Affairs Authority (governmental) and the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club (Ahli) said that Wafa underwent the operation “due to the injury she suffered after her arrest by the occupation forces on May 21.”

The two Palestinian institutions explained – in a joint statement – that this prisoner was arrested after her home in Jenin was stormed “during the recent military operation launched by the occupation against the city and its camp, and her injury was later announced.”

Wafa is the wife of prisoner Abdul Jabbar Jarrar (58 years old), from Jenin, who has been in administrative detention since February 2024. This is the first arrest she has been subjected to, and she is the mother of 4 children, according to the Palestinian Authority and Club.

Commenting on Wafa’s release, the Hamas movement said in a statement that Israel “disavows what the prisoner was subjected to during her arrest and sustained a serious injury, as a result of which her lower limbs were amputated, and the occupation evaded treatment for her, which constitutes a complex crime for which the occupation bears responsibility.” “Full about it.”
