Claims that Yahya Sinwar was hiding in tunnels surrounded by captives, beneath civilian centers in Gaza, were used to justify Israel’s genocidal attack on the enclave. The assassination of the Hamas leader, on the surface, following a firefight with Israeli forces, undermines many of the narratives emanating from Israeli officials and the media over the past year.
