The Israeli media continues to discuss the repercussions of the arrest orders for Netanyahu and Gallant policy

The Israeli media focused on the International Criminal Court issuing arrest warrants against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Galant and the reasons that led to this.

Israeli channels reported that the criminal court “claimed that there was a reasonable basis for the conviction that the two were involved in committing crimes against humanity, war crimes, starvation as a method of war, committing murders, persecution, and deliberately ordering attacks on civilian residents in the Gaza Strip.”

Channel 13 political affairs analyst Gil Tamari pointed out that the Criminal Court said that it “absolutely rejects all of Israel’s claims that the court has no jurisdiction to consider this case.”

For her part, Yana Suriyadna, head of the international affairs department at i24, said, “The Criminal Court rejected the appeal and the Israeli allegations, which included the court’s lack of jurisdiction in Palestine or the territories of the Palestinian Authority. The second main claim was that the Israeli courts were not able to Investigate properly.”

Kan 11 political affairs correspondent Gili Cohen confirmed, “There is also a serious indictment against the Israeli judicial system that supported these two individuals (Netanyahu and Gallant) and the Israeli leadership, and accompanied them legally at all times with the aim of curbing these allegations and these accusations.”

The political affairs analyst on Channel 13 explained that the government’s judicial advisor “proposed to Israel the establishment of an official investigation committee that might have completely neutralized the ability of this court to work and issue arrest warrants, but her request or recommendation was completely rejected by Netanyahu, who is now facing an arrest warrant.” .

He added, “If the Prime Minister traveled to the United States and there was a problem with the plane and it was forced to land, for example, to refuel in Britain or to obtain assistance for his plane in Britain, he should be arrested there.”

As for Kan 11’s political affairs correspondent, Amichai Stein, he explained that there is almost nothing Israel can do about these arrest orders, but it has two possibilities: “either to convince countries not to respect the arrest orders or to withdraw from the International Criminal Court.”

As for the other option – according to Stein – it is what he called the retaliatory option, that is, encouraging countries to take revenge on the court. He revealed that in Israel, in recent days, they have begun formulating a list of recommendations for the administration of US President-elect Donald Trump under the title: “In this way, you will cause harm to the criminal court and take revenge on the court.” If she issues arrest warrants against Gallant and Netanyahu.”

He says, “These recommendations practically examine the type of sanctions that the Trump administration will impose on the Criminal Court, on whom sanctions will be imposed, and the steps that must be taken against the court.”

Channel 14 broadcast an audio recording of Professor Moshe Cohen Elia, a judicial affairs analyst and leader of the Republican majority in the US Senate, in which he threatened and warned the International Criminal Court against issuing arrest warrants and that sanctions would be imposed against it.

For his part, Robbie Sibal, a professor of international justice and a former advisor to the Israeli Foreign Ministry, says that the Criminal Court is “an anti-Israel body.”
