Hamas says that the latest Israeli cease-fire proposal demanding that the Palestinian group disarm `a million red lines ”.
Negotiations for a renewed ceasefire and the end of the war in Gaza seem to be an impasse after Israel has published new requests for Hamas to disarm in its last proposal which offers only a temporary judgment to attacks against Palestinian territory, where the number of deaths approaches at least 51,000.
Israel published his last proposal to Egyptian and Qatari mediators on Monday, offering a 45-day temporary cease-fire in exchange for the release of 11 45-day Israeli captives that have always been held in Gaza.
Hamas said in a statement that he was examining the last Israeli proposal and would also respond “as far as possible”.
The Higher Manager of Hamas, Sami Abu Zuhri, told Tel Aviv Tribune before the publication of the official declaration that Hamas would not accept any request for disarmament, saying that “as long as there is an occupation, the resistance will continue”.
“The request for disarmament Hamas is not even acceptable to hear. It is not only a red line, it’s a million red lines,” said Abu Zuhri. “Everyone must understand that it is a dream – dreamed. It cannot be realized.”
Hamas insisted that Israel is committed to ending the war and withdrawing its Gaza forces. In return, he proposed to hand over all the remaining captives “in a lot”.
Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent Nour Odeh said that Hamas’ disarma was probably a non-starter after Israel had publicly described a plan to force the Gaza Palestinians forcibly.
“While the Palestinians listen to Israel talking about ethnically cleaning of the enclave of its Palestinian population, forming a department of the Ministry of Defense to achieve this objective, it is difficult to see a Palestinian group talking about laying up arms in the absence of a political horizon,” said Odeh.
“So, for the moment, Hamas says that the arms, the question of disarmament, is a red line, and there is no way to talk about it without talking about the end of the war.”
The last series of talks organized in Cairo Monday ended with any apparent movement towards the end of the war, which has intensified since Israel broke the cease-fire in Gaza on March 18 following an agreement which was concluded with Hamas at the end of January.
Since the restart of the war, Israel has killed more than 1,500 Palestinians according to the health authorities of Gaza. The Gaza Ministry of Health says that at least 50,983 Palestinians died and 116,274 wounded in the War of Israel against Gaza.
Hundreds of thousands of people have been moved again since Israel resumed its campaign and imposed a total blockage in Gaza, forcing the territory to a state of siege and famine.
