The Israeli occupation army radio said on Monday that the Hamas movement is re-arming itself from the remnants of its ammunition in the Gaza Strip, as part of the ongoing war for the ninth month.
With American support, Israel has launched a devastating aggression against Gaza since October 7, which has so far left about 124,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing.
The radio said that the Israeli army is aware that Hamas is re-establishing weapons production workshops.
It quoted unnamed security officials familiar with the details as saying that there is no difficulty today in obtaining explosives in Gaza, as they are present in large quantities and are readily available.
She added that Hamas is trying to use the remnants of Israeli Air Force bombs that were launched but did not explode, as a source of explosive materials to manufacture new weapons.
Senior occupation army officials who are dealing with this issue, according to the radio, estimate that out of about 50,000 bombs dropped by the Israeli Air Force on Gaza since the beginning of the war, only about 5% of them exploded, and this means – according to the radio – that this means that about Two to three thousand bombs fell, and Hamas has the ability to use them as raw materials.
She added that the Israeli army’s assessment is that if there is a long-term lull in the fighting as part of a prisoner exchange deal, Hamas will be able to significantly revive its production system.
With the mediation of Egypt and Qatar and the participation of the United States, Israel and Hamas conducted indirect negotiations for months that have not yet succeeded in reaching a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement.
Despite the devastating Israeli war, Palestinian factions announce on a daily basis the killing and wounding of Israeli soldiers and the destruction of military vehicles, and broadcast video clips documenting some of their operations.
The Israeli Institute for National Security Studies, affiliated with Tel Aviv University, estimates that more than 19,000 rockets have been fired from Gaza at Israel since the beginning of the war.
In its update today, the Israeli Institute reported on its website on Monday that since the beginning of the war, 1,610 Israelis have been killed, including 665 soldiers, and 16,538 Israelis have been wounded.
Israel continues its devastating war on Gaza, ignoring the UN Security Council resolutions to stop it immediately, and the orders of the International Court of Justice to end the invasion of Rafah (south), and to take measures to prevent acts of genocide and improve the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the Strip.
Tel Aviv is also defying the request of International Criminal Court Prosecutor Karim Khan to issue arrest warrants against its Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, and its Defense Minister, Yoav Galant. For their responsibility for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
