The Israeli army announced on Friday that its forces had recovered the bodies of three prisoners who were being held in the Gaza Strip, without explaining the circumstances of their death.

The occupation army said in a statement that the prisoners were Israelis Hanan Yevlonka and Michael Nissenbaum and tourist Oren Hernandez.

He added that the bodies of the three prisoners were recovered in Jabalia, north of the Gaza Strip, in cooperation with the General Security Service (Shin Bet) and the Yahalom unit.

The Israeli army added that it is continuing its military and intelligence operations to recover all those it described as kidnapped.

Israel had previously announced the recovery of some of the bodies of its prisoners who were killed by the bombing of Gaza or who were killed at the beginning of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, which was launched by the resistance last October.

Tel Aviv estimates the number of its remaining prisoners in the Gaza Strip at about 130, but it is likely that a number of them were killed.
