The American Bloomberg Network website revealed that North Korea provides Russia with up to 40% of the ammunition used in its war on Ukraine, according to Ukrainian army intelligence chief Kirillo Bodanov.

Bloomberg quoted Bodanov as saying that Pyongyang also sends other weapons to Russia, including ballistic missiles and artillery systems, while Moscow offers money and technology to North Korea, which helps reduce its international isolation, he said.

In an interview with Bloomberg in his office in Kiev, Bodanov attributed 60% of the losses in the Ukrainian military intelligence units during the past three months to “attacks by North Korea munitions, which have huge stocks and continuous production around the clock.”

Russia has strengthened its military cooperation with North Korea since Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a comprehensive strategic partnership treaty with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in June last year, during his first visit to Pyongyang 24 years ago.

North Korea sent thousands of soldiers to help Moscow in its war with the Ukrainian forces to retrieve the lands it seized in the Russian Corsc region near the Ukrainian border.

“Without conditions”

As Kim pledged to support Russia “without conditions” in her war with Ukraine, Western intelligence estimates that Pyongyang sent millions of artillery to the Russian army.

According to Bloomberg, Budnov, 39, gained a good reputation in planning “bold operations” against Russian forces, and even participating in person.

He joined the Ukrainian military intelligence in 2007, and fought in the east of the country after Russia raised a separate conflict there in 2014, and participated in operations in the Russian -controlled Crimea.

Bodanov was 3 times injured in the fight. It was also a target of Kremlin -backed poisoning attempts, according to Ukrainian intelligence officials, while his wife, Mariana, escaped an attempt to poison last November, accusing some officials of Moscow of being involved in it.
