In the heart of the Bureij camp for displaced Palestinians in Gaza, journalist Abdullah Al-Maghari stands, defying circumstances to broadcast his radio program.
From a simple tent, Al-Maghari hosts his guests on the “People’s Talk” program, which has become a window for Gaza residents to express their daily concerns and problems.
Despite major challenges, such as constant power outages, ambient noise, and the devastation of war, he was determined to provide the voice of the people of Gaza.
Al-Maghari says: The program brought him close to the people, hearing them and expressing their concerns. He added that “People’s Talk” is not just a radio program, but rather a platform for communication and interaction between the residents of Gaza, where daily issues are discussed and important news is presented.
Under the siege imposed on Gaza, life has become more difficult for most of the camp’s residents, as unemployment rates have risen significantly, and many families have become dependent on food aid provided by UNRWA.
However, Al-Maghari and other Palestinian media professionals like him remain determined to provide hope and optimism to the people of Gaza, stressing that their voice will not be dimmed, no matter the challenges.
With this persistence and determination, Abdullah Al-Maghari continues his journey in presenting his radio program, believing that the media can be a tool for change and positive influence in people’s lives.
