The Freedom Flotilla Coalition provides for the second navigation after a previous attempt saw a targeted ship in a drone attack attributed to Israel.

The Swedish activist of the Greta Thunberg climate and the actor of Game of Thrones Liam Cunningham will join the next navigation of the Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC) while trying to break the blockade of Israel of Gaza.

The “Madleen” should land from Catania, Sicily, on Sunday with a cargo of humanitarian aid and several high-level activists on board, notably Thunberg, the European deputy Rima Hassan and the American-Palestinian lawyer Huwaida Arraf.

Cunningham, an Irish actor best known for his role as Davos Seaworth in the HBO HBO series, is a longtime defender of Palestine and similar causes.

The sail marks the second attempt in as many months by the FFC, a coalition of humanitarian groups, to reach Gaza.

A mission in early May was interrupted after another FFC ship, “conscience” was attacked by two alleged drones while sailing in international waters off the coast of Malta.

The FFC alleys that Israel was responsible for the attack, which seriously damaged the front section of the ship.

MP Hassan said in a short video on social networks that the “Madleen” journey was a protest against Israel as much as an attempt to provide essential aid to Gaza.

“The first (objective) being of course rejected the blockade of humanitarian aid, the genocide in progress, the impunity from which the State of Israel benefits and to raise awareness of the global international,” she said.

“This action is also in response to the attack on May 2 against the previous ship which took place in international waters near Malta.”

Israel partially raised its blockade of almost three months of Gaza last week, but since then has only granted a tiny help in Palestinian territory, which the United States has warned on the brink of famine.

This week, thousands of Palestinians rushed to so -called distribution of aid distribution put in place by the controversial Gaza Humaninian Foundation, leading to the death of at least three people and dozens of injuries in chaos who followed desperate people were trying to obtain food supplies.

The UN and other humanitarian organizations boycott the American and Israeli initiative, accusing Israel of having tried to consolidate and control the distribution of Aid to Gaza in a new armament of food and famine.

The World Health Organization warned that Gaza risked famine after months of prolonged food shortages in the middle of the punishing blockade of Israel, and that around a quarter of the population is in a “catastrophic situation of hunger, acute malnutrition, famine, illness and death”.
