Emine Erdogan writes to Melania Trump after the letter from the American first lady to Russian President Putin on children in Ukraine and Russia.
The first lady Turkish, Emine Erdogan, sent a letter to the wife of the President of the United States, Donald Trump, Melania Trump, exhorting him to contact the Israeli Prime Minister and to raise the question of the fate of the children of Gaza.
Emine, the wife of Turkish chief Recep Tayyip Erdogan, wrote on Friday that she was inspired by the letter that Melania sent to Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier this month about the state of children in Ukraine and Russia.
According to Turkiye’s state media, Emine said that the feelings expressed in the letter from the first American lady in Putin reflected a deep conscience to listening to global issues.
Erdogan welcomed Melania’s position, writing: “As you said in your letter, each child has the universal and undeniable right to grow in a loving and safe environment.”
“This right is not exclusive to any region, ethnic origin, religion or ideology. Supporting the oppressed who are refused this right is a fundamental responsibility towards the human family.
“In this context, in particular as a spouse of a leader, your compassion for lost life, torn families and children have left orphan under the devastating effects of war in Ukraine is an initiative that instills hope in hearts,” she wrote.
According to American media, Melania, addressing President Putin, wrote: “Each child shares the same quiet dreams in his heart, whether they were born at random in the rustic countryside of a nation or a magnificent city center. They dream of love, possibility and safety of danger. “
“I believe that you will demonstrate this important sensitivity, which you have shown for the 648 Ukrainian children who lost their life in war, even more strongly for Gaza, where 62,000 innocent civilians, including 18,000 children, have been brutally murdered in two years,” added Emine.
Famine confirmed
A global hunger instructor determined on Friday that the city of Gaza and the surroundings officially suffer from famine, and that it will probably spread, increasing pressure on Israel to allow more aid on Palestinian territory.
This came after months of Israeli borders on the entrance to Aid to Gaza – which houses more than two million Palestinians, most of whom were moved several times during the 22 months of the Brutal War of Israel. Help agencies blamed Israel for famine and called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to allow the entrance to aid, awaiting outside the Gaza border.
Netanyahu rejected the declaration of the United Nations famine as a “pure and simple lie”.
The War of Israel against Gaza, which began after the attack on Hamas in October 2023 against Israel, killed more than 62,000 Palestinians. He has devastated large expanses of the enclave, which is under a land, maritime and Israeli air blocking since 2007.
Several human rights organizations have called Israel’s actions in the Gaza genocide and have called for a ceasefire and at the entrance to aid in the territory. The International Criminal Court issued arrest mandates against Netanyahu and its former Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant for war crimes.
