The Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and the President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, affirmed their support for ceasefire efforts in the Gaza Strip.
A statement by the Qatari Emiri Diwan said that the Emir of the State of Qatar and the President of the UAE affirmed, during their discussions in Abu Dhabi, their support for reaching a comprehensive peace on the basis of a two-state solution that preserves the security and stability of the region.
The discussions also included – according to the statement – the fraternal relations between the two countries, and ways to support and consolidate them, and enhance joint Gulf action.
Earlier today, the Emir of the State of Qatar arrived in Abu Dhabi for a short visit that lasted several hours.

Since last October 7, Israel has been waging a devastating war on the Gaza Strip, which to date has left more than 118,000 martyrs and wounded, more than 10,000 missing, and massive destruction in residential neighborhoods, infrastructure, and hospitals.
Qatar and Egypt, with the participation of the United States, are leading indirect mediation between the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and Israel in an effort to reach an agreement that guarantees a ceasefire and the exchange of prisoners and detainees.
