The death toll from two days of Israeli strikes in Lebanon stands at 558

The IDF is continuing its strikes against Hezbollah in Lebanon. Monday’s bombings were the deadliest since Hezbollah launched hostilities on October 8.

Lebanese health officials on Tuesday raised the death toll from two days of Israeli airstrikes targeting Hezbollah militants to 558. Palestinian authorities in Gaza said a new Israeli strike killed at least seven people in the southern Gaza town of Khan Younis.

The Israeli army says it will do “requisites” to push Hezbollah away from the Lebanon-Israel border. Israel and Hezbollah have been exchanging fire since the start of the Israel-Hamas war. On Monday, Israel launched hundreds of airstrikes in southern and eastern Lebanon, killing more than 500 people and wounding nearly 1,600 others.

Thousands of people have fled southern Lebanon, blocking the main highway to Beirut in the largest exodus since the 2006 war between Israel and Hezbollah.
