The Assembly adopts a text to ban disposable electronic cigarettes


This is a first step towards a ban which will still have to be confirmed by Brussels.

They will soon disappear from tobacco. MPs unanimously adopted a transpartisan bill to ban the sale of disposable electronic cigarettes, also called “puffs”. These are very successful among young people, sometimes including minors.

The text supported by the government was welcomed by all political groups and adopted by the 104 deputies present. It will now have to go to the Senate, but also obtain the approval of the European Commission, in a procedure that the government hopes to see completed by the end of next summer.
