The Indian authorities arrested a man on charges of operating a fake embassy from inside a luxurious property near the capital, New Delhi.

A senior official in the work squad for the state of Uttar Pradesh said that the accused, Harschrdan Jin, took advantage of this cover to defraud people and take away their money, by deluding them with job opportunities outside the country.

The official Sushil Gul indicated that Jin, 47, was presenting himself as an ambassador or adviser to authorities such as “Siburga” and “Westartica”.

Sushil Gul said that the police have found fake pictures showing Harvardan Jin with a number of world leaders, in addition to forged seals from the Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and about 36 other countries.

Jin is also suspected of being involved in illegal money laundering operations through fake companies abroad, and faces accusations of forgery, impersonating identity, and possessing false documents.

The police also seized 4 cars with false diplomatic plates, and about 4.5 million Indian rupees (equivalent to about 52,000 USD), in addition to other foreign currencies inside his rented home, which was decorated with international flags of several countries.

The police revealed to the newspaper “India Today”, last Wednesday, that Jin was deluding people that he had diplomatic influence that enables him to facilitate job opportunities or signing contracts in “friendly” countries.

The “friendly countries” that Jin claimed to represent were just microscopic countries, which are material or virtual entities designed to look like sovereign countries, but in reality they are not recognized by any government in the world, despite some of them possessing their own flags and passports.

According to the newspaper “India Today”, Jin was born in a wealthy industrial family, and studied business administration in India and London.

The ongoing investigation also revealed that he had been arrested in 2011 on charges of possessing an illegal satellite phone, a precedent that appeared to the public in the context of the current case.
