Aryna Sabalenka won her second consecutive Australian Open title by beating Qinwen Zheng (6-3, 6-2) on Saturday in a one-sided women’s final.
Second-seeded Sabalenka won the first set in just 33 minutes and maintained her dominance throughout the match against 12th-seeded Zheng.
The Belarusian is the first woman since Victoria Azarenka in 2012 and 2013 to win back-to-back Australian Open titles.
Zheng, 21, was making her debut in a major final and playing for the first time in this tournament against an opponent ranked in the top 50.
