The British Maritime Trade Operations Authority said today, Thursday, that it had received a report that a commercial ship had been attacked 98 nautical miles east of Aden in Yemen, while America announced the destruction of 3 missile launchers for the Houthi group in Yemen.

According to the same source, a captain reported an explosion near his ship, which had previously been reported to have been involved in an accident 82 nautical miles northwest of Hodeidah, Yemen.

No damage was recorded to the ship, and it was reported that all crew members were safe, and that the ship was heading to the next port of call.

The British Maritime Trade Operations Authority previously said that it had received a report about an incident 82 nautical miles northwest of Hodeidah, Yemen.

The authority added that the ship’s security officer – which it did not name – reported that the ship had been hit by unknown projectiles, according to Bloomberg News Agency.

On the other hand, the US Central Command (Centcom) announced its success in destroying 3 anti-ship cruise missile launchers in an area controlled by the Houthis in Yemen.

The US Central Command statement said: “Separately, the Iranian-backed Houthis fired two anti-ship ballistic missiles from Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen over the Red Sea. No casualties or damage were reported by US, coalition, or commercial vessels.” .

He continued, “In addition, an Iranian-backed Houthi unmanned surface ship struck the MV Tater, a Liberian-flagged ship owned and operated by Greece, in the Red Sea. The ship recently docked in Russia.”

The statement concluded by saying, “This continued malicious and reckless behavior by the Iran-backed Houthis threatens regional stability and puts the lives of sailors across the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden at risk.”

Raids on Hodeidah

In turn, the Houthi group announced, on Thursday, that the United States and Britain launched two raids in the coastal province of Hodeidah, western Yemen.

The Houthi-affiliated “Al-Masirah” channel said in a brief breaking news story that, “The American-British aggression targeted the Al-Salif district in Hodeidah Governorate with two raids.”

Al-Salif District is one of the largest districts in Hodeidah Governorate, and contains a vital seaport, according to Yemeni media.

Hodeidah is also one of the most important Yemeni governorates. It contains an international airport and 3 vital ports, in addition to having a long coastal strip.

In “solidarity with Gaza,” which has been facing a devastating Israeli war with American support for the ninth month, the Houthis are targeting, with missiles and drones, Israeli cargo ships in the Red Sea, the Arabian Sea, and the Indian Ocean.

Since the beginning of this year, a US-led coalition has launched raids that it says target Houthi sites in various regions of Yemen.

With the intervention of Washington and London, Al-Houthi announced that it now considered all American and British ships among its military targets.
