More than a year after the sabotage of the Nord Stream gas pipelines, Swedish justice announced that it was closing the investigation without any prosecution.
According to the public prosecutor’s office, this matter does not fall within the jurisdiction of Swedish jurisdiction. The decision was welcomed by Moscow.
The Swedish security services clarified in a statement that the explosions, which took place off the Swedish coast but in international waters, did not target their country and did not threaten its security.
Two other investigations are underway in Germany and Denmark after these explosions which occurred in September 2022 on these gas pipelines, which connect Russia to Germany and transport most of Russian gas to Europe.
