The US National Security Advisor is expected to arrive in Israel next Sunday, to discuss the occupation army’s operation in the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, at a time when the Israeli Defense Minister announced that more forces had been sent to Rafah.
The Hebrew news website Ynet reported that Jake Sullivan will meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yoav Galant, and Minister in the War Council Benny Gantz.
According to the website, “Sullivan will arrive in Israel after a visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where he will advance the issue of normalization.”
Sullivan will discuss in Israel the occupation army’s operation in Rafah, and Tel Aviv has promised him that it will not launch a large-scale operation in Rafah before his arrival.
The United States shows its opposition to a “broad” Israeli military operation in Rafah, under the pretext of protecting civilians there, but it continues to support Tel Aviv in its devastating war on the Gaza Strip, even though the largest percentage of casualties ever are civilians, including in Rafah itself.

Galant anticipated Sullivan’s visit and said that more forces would be sent to the ground operation in Rafah.
In a speech near Gaza today, Galant hinted at the intensification of operations that the Israeli army began 11 days ago, and talked about the destruction of tunnels in the region.
Maariv newspaper revealed that the Israeli occupation army is preparing to deepen and expand its military operation in Rafah, noting that the 89th Commando Brigade was introduced into the combat zone east of the city last night.
Netanyahu said, in statements yesterday, that the operation in Rafah will continue for weeks and will be in stages.

In this context, since last week, the Israeli army has been issuing evacuation orders and directing civilians towards areas it claims are “safe,” while UN and Palestinian authorities confirm that “there is no safe place” in the entire Gaza Strip.
As a result of the war and Israeli restrictions, the residents of Gaza are suffering from “famine,” especially in the Gaza and northern governorates, in light of the severe scarcity of food, water, medicine, and fuel supplies due to the siege, especially with the escalation of the bombing and the encirclement of the siege with the Israeli army taking control of the Rafah border crossing with Egypt last week.
