The frozen winds have blew tents in the Gaza Strip, where hundreds of thousands of people remain homeless in the middle of the two-week ceasefire.
Palestinians in the territory have suffered their second cold and humid winter since the War of Israel against Gaza began in October 2023.
Strong winds and rain add to the suffering of people, thousands of families living in worn tents after destroying it from their homes in the bombing.
Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians returned to Northern Gaza since the entry into force of the ceasefire last month, break in the 15-month assault in Israel. But most people have found their houses destroyed or strongly damaged.
Since then, families have struggled to find a shelter in the middle of mounds of debris and destruction through the besieged enclave.
Authorities plead for temporary shelters to be authorized to do, calling the most urgent humanitarian need.
“Despite the tragedy we live, despite the rain and the very bad weather, people do not stay under a roof,” Qassem Abu Hassoun told Tel Aviv Tribune.
“Which means that people cling to their country, to their land. People cling to a single grain of sand. »»
Anwar Hellis described the “more difficult for us than the trip” fight.
“We woke up at night and found our tents destroyed above us because of the wind and our clothes and our foods were filled with sand,” he said.
Reporting from Gaza City, Hani Mahmoud, Tel Aviv Tribune, said time had forced many Palestinians to leave a makeshift camp in the western part of the city.
Basic supplies such as warm clothes are not widely available.
“People here lack shelters, but also very essential supplies that provide them with heat and protection,” said Mahmoud.
