“An act of terror” in South Korea. Opposition leader Lee Jae-myung was stabbed in the neck on Tuesday while speaking to journalists in Busan, in the southeast of the country.

He then collapsed to the ground as several people rushed to help him and cover his injury. He was taken to Busan National University Hospital. The attacker was arrested.

Busan police said Lee Jae-myung suffered “a one-centimeter laceration to his neck” and “remained conscious and the bleeding was minor.” Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung lost to conservative and current South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol in the 2022 presidential election.
