In Pennsylvania, a 20-year-old man died after hitting a power pole with his snowmobile. In the region, nearly 15,000 homes and businesses are also without electricity.
Another consequence of this weather situation: hundreds of flights had to be canceled at New York and Boston airports.
Schools, courts and public administrations also had to be closed.
