Smotrich: We will end the war when we crush Hamas and Hezbollah | News

Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said that there is no agreement on the table to return the detainees in the Gaza Strip, stressing that the war will end “when we crush Hamas and Hezbollah,” he said.

Smotrich pointed out that they are doing their best to return the detainees, but that this will not lead them to commit mass suicide, as he put it.

The Israeli Finance Minister said that the current war is the result of 30 years in which Israel chose not to act effectively “against terrorism” in Gaza, according to him.

He added, “There is no progress towards destroying Hamas civilian because the army refuses to take responsibility for humanitarian aid to Gaza.”

He also said that there are organized plans starting next December to implement Israeli control over humanitarian aid to Gaza.

Smotrich explained that the political level wants to take responsibility for humanitarian aid in Gaza, but the army refuses to do so, stressing that Israel’s control over humanitarian aid is the key to civilian success in Gaza, had it not been for the opposition of Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi, according to his statement.

Senior Israeli army officers accused National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich of seeking to ignite a “Gog and Magog war” in the region.

Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper quoted the officers yesterday, Sunday, as saying that Ben Gvir and Smotrich are the “direct cause” of the spread of what they called “Palestinian terrorism” throughout the West Bank.
