And the former head of the political bureau of Hamas, Yahya Al -Sinwar, appeared in his last days before his martyrdom, wearing a “cover” that hides the features of the head and the upper half of the body, according to the videos that spread to him during his assassination in Gaza in October 2024.
This was not the “cover” merely a transient procedure, according to military analysts in statements to Al -Jazeera Net, but rather part of a military tactic adopted by the resistance in Gaza recently, with the aim of hiding the features of the body and facial features, in the face of the development of Israeli monitoring and assassination tools.
Also, this tactic opened a door to analyzes in the military circles, and drew attention to the goals that made Hamas elements resort to, especially with the successive developments of artificial intelligence tools in monitoring, analysis and follow -up, and some of these analyzes focus on the technical dimension related to the deception of monitoring tools, while others dealt with its symbolic and psychological dimensions.
Deception of artificial intelligence
For example, what the military and strategic expert, Colonel Nidal Abu Zaid, said that the resistance is fully aware of the size of the reconnaissance and air control operations, not only by the Israeli occupation, but also from multiple international intelligence services, all of which provide the Israeli occupation with accurate information through modern monitoring technologies.
Abu Zaid – in statements to Al -Jazeera Net – indicated that the recent assassinations that affected prominent leaders were based on information extracted through artificial intelligence techniques and tools, depending on the drones that fill the atmosphere of Gaza or the region.
He explained that “the programs used by the occupation – such as Lavnder – depend on analyzing the shape of the body and its dimensions (length and width), in addition to other programs that monitor the body temperature and its vital fingerprints.
Then the military and strategic expert goes that this cover has an essential function; It changes the body of the body and prevents its accurate defining its dimensions, and therefore it is difficult for artificial intelligence to monitor the personality of the resistance and its place with the required accuracy, especially since these software stores the data that it gets for the purpose of using it later in the event that the disappeared person is monitored in other areas, according to Abu Zaid.

He pointed out that there are fabrics that are designed to isolate the body’s thermal fingerprint, which reduces the possibility of detecting the resistance through the thermal sensors used by the Israeli occupation army.
The symbolic dimension
As for the military and strategic analyst, Major General Fayez Al -Duwairi, it is not only that this robe does not acquire its significance from the material side, but also carries a psychological symbolic dimension. Indicating that this cover carried symbolism, especially when the martyr Al -Sinwar wore it at the end of his life, “and he is about to resist the occupation, not managed.”
Al -Duwairi believes that the resistance fighters resorted to these primitive means for two reasons:
