Ankara – The Turkish capital, Ankara, witnessed in early August the direction of the first joint production sample within a Syrian -Turkish industrial project, in the presence of the Syrian Minister of Economy and Industry in the new government, Nidal Al -Shaar and his Turkish counterpart, Minister of Industry and Technology, Mohamed Fateh Kajer, in the “MexT” factory, one of the most prominent technology and innovation centers in the city’s industrial zone.
This achievement is the result of a growing industrial cooperation between the two countries, within the framework of efforts to enhance economic integration and exchange of experiences, after a series of high -level meetings that brought together government delegations from both sides.
In a special statement to Al -Jazeera Net, the Syrian minister described the project as “a first step towards a broader strategic partnership in the areas of smart manufacturing and digital transformation,” stressing Damascus’s desire to “take advantage of the advanced Turkish experience in this field.”
A common industrial vision for the future of Syria
During the visit, the Syrian delegation participated in an expanded presentation organized in the first industrial zone in the Turkish capital, Ankara, and Turkish officials reviewed a strategic vision of industrial cooperation with Syria.
The show included axes related to the rebuilding of industrial infrastructure, the application of the concepts of “digital transformation” and “smart manufacturing” in the Syrian context, based on the advanced experiences that Türkiye has developed in this field.
A high -level visit
The Syrian government delegation, who visited Turkey in the first week of August, included the Deputy Minister of Economy Basil Abdel Hanan, the Deputy Minister of Transport, and officials from the Ministry of Energy, as well as heads of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry, and representatives of the Syrian -Turkish Business Council and the Ministry of Economy.
The visit included the cities of Ankara and Istanbul, where the delegation held official and field meetings with Turkish governmental and economic institutions, most notably the Ministries of Industry and Trade, and a number of organized industrial areas, in addition to economic councils such as the Council of Foreign Economic Relations, the Council of Turkish Exporters, and Businessmen “Moussad” and “Asecun”.
Signature of 14 cooperation protocols
The visit resulted in the signing of 14 cooperation protocols in multiple fields, which included industry, energy, transportation and digital transformation, in addition to agreements to study ways to support the infrastructure of industrial areas in Syria by benefiting from Turkish experiences.
The two sides agreed to open a new technical center in Syria in cooperation with the “Mix” Foundation, with the aim of transferring the experience of industrial digital transformation, developing productive capabilities and raising efficiency.
Contact the Syrian community
At the end of the visit, the Syrian -Turkish Business Council organized an expanded meeting of the Syrian government delegation with the Syrian community in Istanbul, attended by hundreds of businessmen, professionals and academics.
The meeting was a platform to discuss ways to cooperate with Syrians abroad, and to exchange views on their involvement mechanisms in reconstruction efforts inside Syria.
The attendees emphasized the importance of building continuous communication channels with the official authorities, while members of the delegation answered their questions, pledging an active role of communities in the next stage.
At the end of the meeting, Minister Al -Shaar stressed that “the human element remains the main pillar of any economic project,” noting that Syria is looking for “a stage of growth that depends on activating national capabilities inside and outside the country.”
