In May 2024, the Israeli human rights center B’Tselem revealed a plan by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government to displace Palestinians from their lands in cooperation with settlers. The center considered these policies to be part of the “Israeli apartheid system.”
Israeli estimates indicate that there are more than 720,000 settlers in settlements in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.
Since the beginning of the war of extermination on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, has witnessed an escalation in attacks by the Israeli army and settlers on Palestinians and their property.
During these attacks, official Palestinian data reported that the Israeli army and settlers killed at least 691 Palestinians and injured more than 5,700 others, while the army arrested more than 10,400 Palestinians.
