Serbia: vehicles registered in Kosovo can now circulate freely


The measure has been effective since January 1, 2024. Vehicles equipped with Kosovo registration plates will be able to travel freely in Serbia.

Until now, cars coming from the two territories had to have stickers hiding the national emblems, visible on the license plates.

Belgrade clarified that this decision was purely practical. And in no way meant that Serbia recognized the independence of Kosovo.

The European Union nevertheless welcomed this measure, considered a positive step forward in relations between the two countries.
