Scottish Prime Minister Hamza Yousef said that the statements of senior ministers in the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about the displacement of Gaza residents to other countries and the reoccupation of the Strip are the traditional definition of ethnic cleansing.
Youssef added, in a television interview yesterday, Friday, that the Israeli statements must be condemned and rejected, especially with the worsening humanitarian tragedy in the Gaza Strip.
This comes after statements by the Ministers of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir, and Finance Minister, Bezalel Smotrich, demanding the displacement of Gazans to countries that accept them as refugees, and the rebuilding of settlements in the Strip.
Youssef called more than once for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, and also condemned the Israeli army’s massacres in Gaza, especially the Jabalia massacre in the northern Strip, which resulted in the killing and wounding of hundreds of Palestinians.
He also called for the condemnation of international disregard for human life and the killing of children in the Strip.
It is noteworthy that the parents of the Scottish Prime Minister’s wife were stuck in Gaza when the war broke out on October 7, and they were able to leave through the Rafah crossing with the implementation of the temporary humanitarian truce on November 24.
