This Thursday, the Belgian army announced the dissolution of a platoon of around thirty soldiers, for acts of violence and humiliation during integration rituals.
This hazing, including abuse of power and inappropriate behavior, concerned around ten people in a platoon of the 4th engineering battalion established in Amay, near Liège.
This violence lasted several months, even several years. For the Belgian authorities, the dissolution must serve as an example.
The Ministry of Defense is calling on young recruits to report any problematic behavior they witness within the army.
