Since the announcement of the death of the most famous Russian opponent at the age of 47, more than 400 people have been arrested.
Tributes to Alexeï Navalny continue in Russia, despite the risk taken by citizens who express their grief. Citizens bring flowers to the monument dedicated to the victims of political repression in Moscow.
Since the announcement of the opponent’s death three days ago, about four hundred people were arrested, and one hundred and fifty sentenced to short prison terms.
Navalny’s family accuses authorities of hiding his body
The opponent’s relatives continue to call for his remains. Alexeï Navalny is said to be resting in a morgue in the Arctic, near the prison complex where he was serving nineteen years of imprisonment. Authorities say the first autopsy was inconclusive and a second one needs to be done.

Sadness and anger in Europe
The death of the symbol of the Russian opposition sparked reactions in many cities across Europe. “You can kill the man, but not the truth” summarizes a message left near the Russian embassy in the United Kingdom, in London, among thousands of flowers.
In Berlin, several hundred people took part in a demonstration against Vladimir Putin’s policies. For their part, the Pussy Riots, women united in a punk, feminist and dissident group, also expressed their anger against the Russian president.
They sang slogans like “Putin, assassin” in front of the Russian embassy in Germany.
