This Wednesday, the Duma, the lower house of the Russian Parliament, adopted a resolution, ordering French deputies to “conduct the investigation” into so-called French “mercenaries”. Sixty of them, according to Russia, died in a Russian strike on Kharkiv, Ukraine, on January 16. France denounces a “crude” and “coordinated” disinformation campaign, with the head of the Duma, Vyacheslav Volodin, going so far as to compare French President Emmanuel Macron to Marshal Pétain.
